ABOUT
The Arun & Downland Gundog Society started out as the South Coast Gundog Society in 1981 and was renamed at the suggestion of the Kennel Club in 1985 when it officially registered and became affiliated to the KC.
In that same year, the Club ran an Inter-Club Match; followed in 1986, with a Cold Game Test and an Open Working Test. Training was at the core of the Club's activities at this time - hence the Club's name originally included the word 'Training' at the request of the Kennel Club. The Club celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2010 with a reception at Arundel Castle hosted by the President, The Duke of Norfolk.
The Club's first Field Trial was run in January 1992 and in the years since then, the Club has progessed to running a 2-Day Open Qualifying Field Trial alongside its Novice Trials, adding an All-Aged Trial in 2017 and has a full programme of Working Tests.
Training Classes run throughout the Spring and Summer at a variety of venues throughout the region finishing with the annual Competitive Training Day.
